Today I took one of my least favorite nursery rhymes -- Ring Around the Rosey -- and rewrote it So, in mine, the fish lives, which is so much nicer than singing about the Bubonic Plague.
Revised Nursery Rhyme/Song
Ring around the fish bowl
I filled the water too full
Slippery, slippery
The fish falls down
Ring around the bathtub
Give the scum a good scrub
Shredded, shredded
The sponge falls down
Ring around the night moon
Storm is coming very soon
Lashes, lashes
The rain falls down
