Today, I’m taking part in a “blog
hop” and I almost completely forgot. Yup
– I’m just that good. In my defense, I
am planning to be at the hospital all day with my mother tomorrow, and we are
leaving for vacation on Thursday, but still…
I’ve written everything from as-of-yet unpublished picture books, to published Middle Grade, Young Adult, a short story collection (with my son) and soon to be released Adult nonfiction poetry. Parts of most of these works have been shared on my blog. I also design and make jewelry, draw and paint, and do calligraphy. Maybe I SHOULD use my blog more.
Hmmm. When I first started my blog, I posted random
thoughts and some examples of my writing – probably pretty ordinary. I updated the blog maybe once a week. Later, I added a second blog for book
reviews. I would re-post the book
reviews, so my blog might get updated two or three times a week. Now I’m updating my blog five or six times or
even more times a day. Why? Because I still do the first two things, but
I’ve added my son’s stories as well.
My son, now, is
five-and-a-half. He’s been telling
stories for a little over a year and a half.
At the beginning of the year, a book was published containing a
collection of over 1000 of his stories.
I illustrated every single one of the first years’ stories, and those
illustrations can be found on this blog.
This year, I’m still sharing the stories, but only illustrating a
few.
A "Thomas" story I illustrated today.
